Helping Canadian farmers - Dairy prices about to rise

Starting in early 2022, your morning lattes are about to cost a few pennies more.

The Canadian Dairy Commission has recommended an 8.4% increase in farm gate milk prices.

The commission says the higher price will help offset increased production costs for farmers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It says feed, energy and fertilizer costs have all been particularly impacted, causing farmer revenues to fall below the cost of production.

For those that love fresh dairy, we can celebrate our hard working Canadian farmers.

There are plenty of delicious alternatives to dairy, none of which are affected by the price hike.
